8 Mile Training Run

Strideopolis Facebook Page
Despite all of the High Wind Warnings that were in effect for a large part of the I-25 corridor from Denver to Colorado Springs today I was still able to get in a 8 Mile Training Run on the Santa Fe Trail here in Monument, Colorado.  For the most part high winds were not an issue for me on the Santa Fe Trail between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM.  There were sustained crosswinds between 35-40 MPH but I only experienced a few strong gusts as I made my way to and from Palmer Lake, Colorado.  I have experienced windier conditions on the Santa Fe Trail before so today was just another day of running in the wind.  I did have a very nice tail wind that blew me all the way back to Monument from Palmer Lake which may have just help me set a new personal record for my fastest mile ever run!
