MY TRAINING RUN RECORD NOW STANDS AT 14 DAYS
This afternoon I went on my 14th straight training run of My Personal Training Run Challenge of seeing how many 13.1 Mile Training Runs I can run consecutively. It was "Stealth Mode On" during this run because when I started my 14th Training Run in Monument, Colorado the sun was still shining bright when I was making my way to Palmer Lake, Colorado. I did not bring my headlamp with me on this run because I thought that I would be able to get my 13.1 Mile Training Run completed before the sun went down. Well...I was wrong. After I completed my 9 laps around the Palmer Lake Loop, the sun had already set behind the Front Range Mountains and it was getting dark very rapidly. Needless to say, by the time I started to run back to Monument it was already nighttime giving me the first time in my entire amateur running career the opportunity to run down a trail in total darkness! Thank goodness I had the "Man On The Moon" looking after me because he was shining bright in the nighttime sky giving me plenty of light so I could navigate the long and dusty Santa Fe Trail back to Monument. Getting stuck on a dark trail after sunset and running in the shadows of pine trees down the Santa Fe Trail was a real hoot! The silhouettes of the Front Range Mountains from the sun setting in the West was also a spectacular sight to see. Very awe inspiring.
Wildlife Report:
Yes...Woodland creatures were encountered on this run! While heading back to Monument after doing my Palmer Lake Loops, in the darkness there was a large shadow standing right off the trail. This shadow turned out to be a very large beautiful Doe just standing in the tall grass watching me intensely as I sashayed by about 10 feet away. This big Doe just looked at me as I passed by making no attempt whatsoever to scurry into the dense pine tree forest. This close encounter was way cool because I have never been this close to a Deer before in the wild!
Sasquatch Report:
No sightings yet...but I Believe!
Celestial Report:
There were only a few stars visible in the nighttime sky as I made my way back to Monument. The "Man On The Moon" was glowing proudly in the nighttime sky as he watched me Smile Each Mile® during my nighttime run on the Santa Fe Trail.
Bio Report:
Here is how my Bio Report currently reads (1= Good, 10 = Bad)
Feet Rank = 2 (Drop From 3)
Knees Rank = 2 (Drop From 4)
Legs Rank = 2 (Drop From 3)
Back Rank = 1 (Drop From 2)
Today's run was probably one of my strongest runs in the past few days and my Feet, Knees, and Legs all felt the best that they have felt in several days. My body has now fully adapted to "My Personal Training Run Challenge" very nicely!
Here's The Skinny:
In the last 14 Days I have now run a Grand Total of 187 Miles (13.3 Miles X 14 Days = 187.3 Miles) and have burned approximately 21,658 Calories!
I am so looking forward to getting back on the trail tomorrow morning to extend "My Personal Training Run Challenge of seeing how many 13.1 Mile Training Runs I can run consecutively" by yet another day. Tally-Ho!
