My name is Darin Lewandowski and I am an avid trail runner living here in beautiful Monument Colorado. For those of you who have never heard of Monument, Colorado my town is located smack dab in between Denver, Colorado and Colorado Springs, Colorado right down the I-25 corridor. The elevation of Monument is around 7,000+ feet above sea level which makes my town a very great place to train for different running events. As an extra bonus, Monument also provides breath taking scenery everywhere you go around town. During the winter time we also get blanketed with a lot of snow which normally leaves 5-6 foot snow drifts across my driveway and around my house.
I started my amateur running career back in Calendar Year 1999. My main goal back then was just to try and get back into shape after spending many years in college and then a few more years in graduate school. Back then I could not even handle more than 2 minutes on a treadmill and now I am running ultra races up in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I first started running a few 10K races back in 1999 and then quickly progressed to running half-marathons. I then took a giant leap of faith and ran my first marathon, the Detroit FreePress Marathon, in October 1999. After successfully completing my first marathon, I knew I was going to be hooked on the sport of running the rest of my life. Within a span of 18 years, I have now run a grand total of 23 marathons (10 Detroit Marathons, 1 Chicago Marathon, 6 Denver Marathons, 1 Estes Park Marathon, 5 Pikes Peak Marathons).
In Calendar Year 2014, I decided to switch over to Trail Running and once again took the giant leap of faith and ran the 2014 TransRockies Run 6-Day Solo/120 Mile Trail Run. I am also an avid snowboarder so the slogan "Go Big or Go Home" stuck with me when I decided that my first Ultra Run ever would be a 120 Mile event. Since my 120 Mile adventure up in the pristine mountains of Colorado, I have also ran 9 other Ultra distance races (50K, 50 Miles, 100K, 100 Miles, 24-Hour Events). I set my personal running distance record this year when I ran the 24-Hours at Palmer Lake Fun Run located in Palmer Lake, Colorado putting in 90 Miles on the 0.82 Mile Loop which was a big distance step above my 100K race that I ran back in Calendar Year 2015.
So what is Strideopolis? Strideopolis is Colorado's nano running company which currently sells running related apparel and accessaries at small running events and on third party websites. Yes...We are so tiny so please do not step on us! My company MrGraph LLC was founded in May 2013 and we are currently doing business as STRIDEOPOLIS and SMILE EACH MILE.
